Once, a long, long time ago,
when the world was young,
I smiled every morning,
as the song-birds sung.
It was so great and beautiful,
the way the Earth was made,
the trees, the sky, the morning sun
shining every day.
Parrots, owls, ostriches,
dolphins, seals, and whales,
they were all abundant,
their numbers could not fail.
The wind, the trees, the salty seas,
the flowers, ferns, and more,
It all looked so wonderful,
back in the days of yore.
Then man came...
He cut down and burned the trees,
he killed and cooked the mammals,
he dug and mined for precious gems,
rode horses, bulls, and camels.
He oiled up the waters,
he polluted all the air,
he slashed and burned, drove us away,
but did he even care?
The days of life have ended,
they've numbered to their last,
the days of loss are on us now,
will they ever pass?
