Student Poem of the Month — November 2005

Beneath the Rainbow   © by   Natalie Watson

And you were mine, once,
In the corner of my mind.
We danced through the sunset
on a day that never was.

You were mine, once,
In a time that I controlled.
We met beneath the rainbow
and there was magic.

You were mine, once,
When we were all alone
We sang a soundless song
and it was beautiful.

You were mine, once,
In a moment of no time
We thought of each other
and forgot about the world.

You were mine, once,
Before it became real.
Before you left me waiting
Beneath the Rainbow.
