Student Poem of the Month — September 2004

How to Get out of Homework   © by   Kyle Muncy

I was at a meeting,
You didn’t give me that,
My dog ate it,
I was sick,
I forgot my bookbag on the bus,
I got stuck in a castle
With no way out except for
The key that unlocked the door
That I was sitting on,
I was being chased by a killer,
I ate 900 chicken legs and got sick,
I was stuck under the covers
Sleeping.
