Student Poem of the Month — May 2004

Night Dance   © by   Felecia Yearwood

Sitting by the window
Watching my parents
Standing out there hand in hand
Without music
I watch them dance
Slowly to the left
Then, the right

They dance, they do not care who sees them
Beautiful is the only word to describe them
Face to Face
Without moving their eyes

They dance by the light of the moon
Lighting their pathway
For this one moment, they are one
Love is in the air
