Student Poem of the Month — July 2003

Sea Shore   © by   Annalee Kwochka

The waves ripple to the seasons
Blooming like flowers in the summer
Wilting like flowers in the winter
Up, down
                  Bloom, wilt
Run, fall
                  Run, fall
                                    Run, fall
The waves come to me
And trade my treasures for new ones
Old sand, new sand
         Old shells, new shells
I leave with salt all over me, like pollen
As if I had walked through a field of flowers
