Student Poem of the Month — February 2003

Snow   © by   Mary La

Gray clouds unravel, veiling blue sky
Crisp air is still, wind whispers through trembling trees.
From heavy clouds, snow flutters
Like dandelion fluff
Scatters throughout the wood.
The dandelion fluff travels through the copse
Alighting on skeletal branches
Brushing by the mailbox, sweeping by the old birdfeeder
Settling on the branches, resting on the grass
The clouds meander
Leaving behind a world laced with white.
Sparkling, shimmering, glittering
Touched only by small footprints, leading to an angel
       on the ground
Surrounded by stardust.
