We heard on TV late last night that it was bound
to snow.
We heard there was a cold front and the winter
winds would blow.
The newsman all but guaranteed we'd get a foot
or two.
We figured that there'd be no school so we all
yelled "Yahoo!"
At bedtime flakes were coming down harder all
the time.
We could hear no sound at all; it was quiet as
a mime.
I had such jolly dreams about the things I'd do
in the snow
like snowball fighting, building things and sledding
as fast as I could go.
When I woke up and looked outside it almost made
me sick.
Even though it snowed all night ... it didn't
even stick.
