When sky turns
from blue to black
children lie sleeping
on belly or back.
Darkness falls
sun setting low
with all of the stars
I have come to know.
Children put flashlights
under their head
to protect them from monsters
under the bed.
The wind blows softly
through trees in the night
but don't let it be
the cause of your fright.
Moonlight is shining
don't you shiver
tell me your worries
'neath moonbeams of silver.
