I like to stay with Grandma,
And I'm gonna tell you why.
There's never a dull moment,
And I laugh until I cry.
One day, Grandma decided
To teach me how to cook.
We chopped garlic and parsley
And we went right by the book.
Then someone rang the doorbell
And that was all it took
To make Grandma forget the stove
And then we both were cooked!
What happened after that
I never will forget.
The smoke alarm was blaring
And boy did Grandma fret.
She tried to fix the fire alarm
As I stood and shook my head.
Then I looked out the window
And saw four men in red.
As they got off the fire truck,
Pulling hoses in their arms
I watched as my poor Grandma
Explained the false alarm.
Grandpa calls her "Lucy"
And I knew why that day.
For there's never a dull moment,
And I can't wait for my next stay!
