Time Not Wasted    © by    Ed Cockrell

Of this and that and orangery cats
much may be written of little to say
depending on the cat and time of day.

Of this and that and fragrant old hats
even less can be known to earnestly say
much may be written of things this way.

Of this and that and red colored cats
few will ever worry their worrisome day
that something is said of nothing to say

Of this and that and histories of hats
or secret places where felines stay
sharpening their claws, refusing to say

Of this and that or where they sat
in fedoras green from salt and bay
thinking of nothing but sleep each day.

And time would be lost except for cats
that have a fancy for having their way
and spend their time with nothing to say
of this and that and green felt hats.
