With the addition of books by Sandra Ervin Adams and Debra Kaufman, the NCPS member
Poetry Book List
has grown to 58 books by 30 members. All current NCPS members are invited
to submit their own books of poetry for inclusion in this list.

The NCPS has created an endowment for a student poetry contest in memory of the late
Joan Scott of The Country Bookshop in Southern Pines. See

Brockman-Campbell
Book Award Poetry Pages
have been created for eight winning books so far. All winning poets
(1977-2008) are invited to participate.
To bring a humanities scholar or poet to your community for a six-session
poetry series, see the North Carolina Center for the Book's
NC Reads NC: Our Poets Speak.
The NCPS
From the time of its birth in Charlotte in 1932, the
North Carolina Poetry Society has given awards for excellence
in poetry. In addition to the
Brockman-Campbell Book Award,
the NCPS sponsors annual
Poetry Contests
with awards in 9 adult and 5 student categories.
