Lunch Orders
A box lunch may be purchased on-site for $10.00 between 9:15 and 10:00.
Choices are chicken salad sandwich, tuna salad sandwich, or vegetarian salad.
All box lunches come with iced tea, side dish, and dessert.
Pay for lunches by cash or by check made out to caterer 195 Eclectic Cuisine.

Poetry Workshop

Workshop Description
Carolyne Wright will conduct this workshop from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
Participants should bring a bag lunch.
The cost is $15 for NCPS members and $25 for non-members.
Participants are encouraged to submit a poem for critique.

Carolyne Wright, winner of the 2007 Independent Publishers Book Award, is the poet in residence
at Lynchburg College in Virginia. She has published eight books and poetry chapbooks.

Poetry Workshop

Presented by the NCPS in conjunction with Randolph Writers and the Randolph Arts Guild
Workshop Description
Barbara Presnell will conduct this workshop from 10:00am to 3:00pm with:
* morning critique from 10amnoon with coffee and muffins provided
* lunch from noon1:00pm with drinks provided (brown bag or eat locally)
* afternoon session from 1:00pm-3:00pm with writing exercises
The cost is $15 for NCPS members and $25 for non-members.
Registration must be postmarked by March 8 and should include:
* a check for the appropriate fee made out to the North Carolina Poetry Society, and
* one poem to be critiqued.

Workshop Leader
Barbara Presnells weekly newspaper column is distributed nationwide by the New York Times News Service.
Her award-winning poetry has been widely published and appears in four individual collections of her work.
A native of Asheboro, NC, Barbara currently teaches in the English department at UNC-Charlotte and lives
with her husband and son in Lexington, NC.

Workshop Description
Dave Manning will conduct this workshop from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
Location is 825 N. Estes Drive, Chapel Hill, NC, in Room 2.
The workshop will be limited to the first 10 applicants.
Participants should mail or e-mail one poem to Dave Manning by Friday, April 4.
One week in advance, Dave will distribute copies of participant poems for review.
Participants should bring their lunches. NCPS will provide coffee/tea/water and snacks.
The cost is $15 for NCPS members and $25 for non-members.

Workshop Leader
David Treadway Manning was the winner of the North Carolina Poetry Societys Poet Laureate Award in
1996, 1998, and 2006. He is current host of the Friday Noon Poets of Chapel Hill and co-editor of
Always on Friday, an anthology of poems from that group. A Pushcart nominee, his poems have
appeared in many journals and in five chapbooks. His full-length collection, The Flower Sermon,
is now available from Main Street Rag in its Editors Select Poetry Series.
