Born in West Palm Beach, Kenneth “Skip” Morris is a native Floridian but grew up in Durham and Raleigh, NC. He returned to Florida in high school and graduated from Boca Raton Community High School in Boca Raton, Florida.
Skip attended Evangel College in Springfield, Missouri where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in Communications and a Bachelor’s of Music Education. In 2008, Skip earned his Master’s in Music Education from East Carolina University.
Skip teaches music full-time and has been on staff at Eastern Wayne Middle School since 1996. He was EWMS Teacher of the Year for 2000-2001. In 2001, Mr. Morris became the Lead Music Teacher K-12 for Wayne County. Prior to teaching, Mr. Morris served as minister of music and children’s pastor for churches in North Carolina, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
Mr. Morris is married and often his wife, Melanie, assists him by accompanying the chorus on piano at school concerts. They have three sons: Jordan, Curran, and Jameson.
